2012 (Theatrical Release USA 2009)

It seems to take 2012 a long time to start the ‘real’ story. We keep waiting for John Cusack (playing character Jack Curtis) to get a clue that the world is ending. The graphics are outstanding with unexpected views of Los Angeles disappearing into the ocean. The story concept has elements of greatness to it; but those elements seem to be swallowed up in over-the-top action scenes. The storyline does not follow the normal ‘who lives/who dies’ formula which creates rather delightful and unexpected story twists. A surprise ending makes this movie a good action flick for apocalypse film fans.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. It’s better than Day After Tomorrow, but definitely not in the same caliber as Independence Day.
