Marley and Me is such a simple story and yet
somehow its casting, its script, and the family atmosphere make it into a
family movie that will be remembered for a long time. Every scene makes one
remember things about childhood, family pets, and family—the good and bad times
that make family memories complete. Director David Frankel caught the essence
of life and left the audience with an unmistakable life message less the usual
preaching effect that comes with message movies. The ending is worth waiting
for—bittersweet.
Storyline
Newspaper
writer John Grogan (Owen Wilson) lives a very regular American life with his
wife Jenny (Jennifer Aniston) until they adopt an uncontrollable Labrador retriever.
