OPEN SEASON (Theatrical Release USA 2006)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.8|5.0 Stars ììì

Open Season, not original and not great, has its comedic elements based in the interaction between a domesticated bear named Boog (voice of Martin Lawrence) and a woodland deer named Elliot (voice of Ashton Kutcher). It’s a Sony Pictures and Columbia Pictures computer animated production that performed worldwide on an average box office intake despite its lack of an outstanding script and animation. It’s finale, when Boog finally decides that his true home is in the woods, seems trite and uninspired. But, for what it is, it’s a clean afternoon of fun that children will enjoy.
