JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT (Theatrical Release USA 2014)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.4|5.0 Stars ììì

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit—based on Tom Clancy’s novel character, Jack Ryan—works, but lacks the ability to enthrall. Part of the dilemma may be the casting and a rather weak portrayal of a romantic relationship between two of the characters. The strongest character in the movie, who also directs the movie, Kenneth Branagh, (playing Russian character Victor Cherevin) comes into the scene a little late to really save this film from mediocrity.

A United States Marine,  recruited by the CIA to work in Wall Street, looks for suspect financial transactions and discovers a Russian plot to bring the United States economy down through staged financial maneuvering.
