GRUDGE MATCH (Theatrical Release USA 2013)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.4|5.0 Stars ììì

Grudge Match—big disappointment—could have been so much more. If you’re looking for wisdom, you’re not going to find too much of it here. Two seasoned citizens, both former professional boxers, Henry “Razor” Sharp (Sylvester Stallone) and Billy “The Kid” McDonnen (Robert DeNiro), duke it out over something that should have been settled years ago. Despite the prolonged ‘I don’t wanna do it’ that nags the movie, the actual match and the resulting fallout have their own emotional reward.

Additional Thanks

Good Work for Director and Producer Peter Segal. Thank you to Executive Producers Jane Rosenthal and Kevin King Templeton for making the film possible. Additional characters/cast include: Jim Lampley (Himself), Boxing Announcer (Rich Little) Young Sally (Ireland Baldwin), Dante Slate Sr. (Anthony Bean), and Young Dante (Mason Mackie).
