PIONEER (Toronto International Film Festival Toronto Canada 2013)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.8|5.0 Stars ììì

Pioneer becomes a hard-to-follow, thinly plotted story with some suspense.  The Norwegian film is additionally hampered due to language in Norwegian and subtitles in English. It is an interesting story that gets more involved as it tells its story. It probably would do better on a remake with a deeper, more sophisticated storyline. The acting, however, is exceptionally authentic and strong.

Storyline

An exploration of a 1980s deep diving accident in the North Sea.
