DEFIANCE (2008 Independent Film USA)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 4.1|5.0 Starsìììì

Defiance is one of the best World War II movies that I have seen in a long time. The actors, Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber, are at the top of their game with excellent portrayal of character. In this Jewish fight for freedom story, Director Edward Zwick places himself in the line of best directors for 2009. This is a must see film for war movie fans everywhere.

Four Jewish brothers, Tuvia Bielski (Daniel Craig), Zus Bielski (Liev Schreiber), Asael Bielski (Jamie Bell), and Aron Bielski (George MacKay), escape German task forces into the Naliboki Forest. Gradually a whole community gathers around them.
