GOLD (Theatrical Release USA 2016)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 4.8|5.0 Starsìììì

Gold—based on a true story—has a certain ‘smarts’ and charisma to it that keep the audience watching. There is an unexpected twist toward the middle to end of the film that catches one off guard and adds terrifically to its interest. Matthew McConaughey’s presence in the film carries it. It’s a good guy pick.

Kenny Wells's (Matthew McConaughey) family mining company, Washoe, is on the brink of complete failure. He has a dream that he needs to travel to Indonesia where he meets Michael Acosta (Edgar Ramírez), a worldly wise miner who is in the same situation as Kenny.
