Sky Captain and The World of
Tomorrow turns into an intriguing film, thoughtfully portrayed. The color
cinematography has a type of noir effect, almost as if there is a gray overlay,
that makes it look old-fashioned, as if coming out of the year 1939. Besides
the good storyline, it’s the additions of robots and flying airplanes with flapping wings that encourage a viewing. Look for the great costuming chosen for Angelina Jolie. The interesting casting choice of Jude Law and Gwyneth
Paltrow works as a fair to good combination.
Storyline
Sky
Captain Joe Sullivan (Jude Law) and Reporter Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow) endeavor
to stop Dr. Totenkopf’s (Laurence Olivier) plan to start the world over again
with a new Adam and Eve.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?
Yes. While it lost money at the box office, it stands as a classic sci fi/action film based
on a type of comic book edginess that makes it unique.
