STRONG ISLAND (2017 Sundance Film Festival Park City, Provo City, Sundance Resort in Uinta National Forest Utah County Utah USA)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 4.5|5.0 Starsìììì

Strong Island takes its audience on a well-balanced review of the disturbing 1992 murder of William Ford Jr. His sister and the director of the film, Yance Ford, makes an investigation of her brother’s death with a review of how they came to live on Long Island through the evening he was killed and then, examines the days that follow her brother’s murder. Yance Ford interviews family, friends, and investigators as a means of understanding this shocking and emotionally disturbing event. This documentary stands as one of the best in the business. It has been sensitively written, examines the entire spectrum of events from multiple viewpoints, and deserves high praise for camera use and professional, sensitive interviews that thoroughly explore hurtful, shocking events. Great work for Director Yance Ford.

Storyline

Yance Ford’s brother, William Ford, Jr., is murdered by a man who claims he felt intimidated by Williams’ presence in the auto shop where the man works.
