Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.4|5.0 Starsììì

The Host, based on a Stephanie Meyers’ book, does not measure up to Stephanie Meyers’ Twilight series movies. This film needs a serious overhaul from the ground up to become good entertainment. Nothing works in this movie even though it has terrific potential to be an outstanding movie.

Small aliens invade human bodies and suppress human consciousness with their own consciousness. One alien, The Wanderer (Emily Browning/Saoirse Ronan), inserts itself into the body of Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) and attempts to subdue Melanie’s consciousness. The Wanderer does not subdue Melanie’s consciousness and finds itself in regular conversations with Melanie. Melanie fights to keep her memories intact and accessible.
