BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA (2007 USA)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.6|5.0 Starsììì

Bridge to Terabithia—imaginative—appeals to the younger audience due to its non-linear movement that runs back and forth between reality and creativity. This creates a small underlying conflict that at times makes it hard to understand where the story is going and makes it difficult to see where the real story lies. Above average acting by child stars Josh Hutcherson and AnnaSophia Robb.

Storyline

Mr. Jess Aarons (Josh Hutcherson) meets Miss Leslie Burke (AnnaSophia Robb) and finds life will never quite be the same.

Additional Thanks

Thank You to Director Gabor Csupo for directing effort. Thank you to Executive Producer Alex Schwartz for making the film possible. Additional characters/cast include: Ms. Edmunds (Zooey Deschanel), Jack Aarons (Robert Patrick), May Belle Aarons (Bailee Madison), Mary Aarons (Kate Butler), Brenda Aarons (Devon Wood), Ellie Aarons (Emma Fenton), and Joyce Aarons (Grace Brannigan).

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Maybe. The film doesn’t delve too deeply into any ethical subject, but still manages to touch several human behaviors with such imagination and creativity that it’s easy to miss the teaching moments this film offers. Good ‘talk-about’ film for the child and adult viewer.
