SNAKE EYES (Theatrical Release USA 1998)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.6|5.0 Starsììì

Snake Eyes
features Nicholas Cage in what should have been a completely winning role for him. But, the film starts with Cage as overly confident in his character and the over-the-top, almost Jim Carrey-like interpretation of his character undermines the rest of the scenes required to portray the storyline. The movie does not flow so that predictability and tedium set in at times.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Maybe. It’s insightful to see how this story plays out; but, there are better police movies with higher entertainment value such as L.A. Confidential.
