THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123 (Theatrical Release USA 2009)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 4.5|5.0 Starsìììì

The Taking of Pelham 123—much better than the original—seems to ‘make itself’ into a WOW! action movie because of the seamlessness of each scene as they flow one into the other. Denzel Washington and John Travolta put the octane into this movie. Director Tony Scott performs at his usual high level of orchestrating actors, dialogue, and set scenes into one harmonious whole. This movie works as one of those rare remakes that succeeds at every level.

Storyline

A train is highjacked for a ransom.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. It’s surprising how a little gunpowder and ammunition can make a Bravo! film worth watching. Taut.
