RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE (Theatrical Release USA 2010)

 Ben Meyers’ rating: 4.3|5.0 Starsìììì

Resident Evil: Afterlife works with a high-level special effects department that managed to put together some of the best effects of its decade. Some of the slow motion action scenes remind one of the slow motion scenes in the movies Matrix and Equilibrium, but they keep the pace of the film at such a high level of intensity that the repeat of the slow motion process works. This Resident Evil movie is not as good as the last Resident Evil movie but watch for a Middle Ages fight scene with an executioner and a rain scene that can be described as WOW! This movie begs for a sequel and got it with the next in the series: Resident Evil: Retribution.

? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. The movie loosely bases itself on gaming entertainment but works at a much higher level than do most movies that come from the gaming industry. Perhaps this movie manages that leap because the Resident Evil games are some of the best on the market.
