ALADDIN (Theatrical Release USA 2019)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.8|5.0 Starsììì

Aladdin
—live action remake of Disney’s animated 1992 Aladdin movie—does not deliver the same spirited story as the original animated film partially because the voice of Robin Williams carried the 1992 film so well. But Will Smith’s charisma carries this remake film and makes it work. With a different casting choice for Aladdin, the movie would have carried more weight in entertainment value. The parrot does not get the screen time that it was given in the 1992 Disney movie with the result that some entertainment value is lost there. Overall the film is a good watch and an excellent child/adult share film.

Maybe. The 1992 Disney version is still the best of the two films.
