THE GOLDEN COMPASS (Theatrical Release USA 2007)

The Golden Compass—
inspired by novelist Philip Pullman’s stories—shows great imagination working within a parallel universe where working with personal daemons, powerful armor-shielded bears, and rescuing orphans becomes the common place. The movie is a WOW! piece of entertainment that features the voices of actors like Ian McShane, Freddie Highmore, and Ian McKellen. Dakota Blue Richards, who plays Lyra, does an outstanding job.

Yes. The story is complicated and rich in symbolism. The film deserves a sequel.
