NIM’S ISLAND (2008 USA)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.7|5.0 Starsììì

Nim’s Island—a perfect family movie with a simple storyline. Gerard Butler, Jodie Foster, and Abigail Breslin act naturally and seem comfortable within their roles in the script. This is one movie that is almost worth watching again for kids and adults. There are some especially memorable scenes of Jodie Foster’s rendition of her neuroses that are more than excellent.

Storyline

Nim Rusoe (Abigail Breslin) lives with her father, Jack Rusoe (Gerard Butler), a marine biologist who works from a South Pacific Island. When he doesn’t return as planned from an exploratory trip, she communicates via email with San Franciscan writer, Alexandra Rover (Jodie Foster) for help.
