EDGE OF DARKNESS (Theatrical Release USA 2010)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 2.2|5.0 Starsìì

The Edge of Darkness trailer promises everything; the Edge of Darkness movie drops into a sea of mediocrity due to poor casting choices (i.e., Ronald Craven, the vengeful Dad, played by Mel Gibson). Mel Gibson plays well as an action star, maybe a drama star; but, Mel Gibson does not play the vengeful Dad character well. The movie works more on drama with some suspense rather than an edge-of-your-seat-action film. Mel Gibson lacks his usual vigor in this movie.

No. Director Martin Campbell does not pull the acting potential from his cast that can move the movie into the winning arena.
