Elysium, a movie directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9), is one of this director’s best films. Matt Damon is perfectly cast here. Elysium is fresh, entertaining, and engaging. It earns its watch.

In a dystopian future, rich people live in their own world above earth while poor people live on earth.

MALEFICENT (Theatrical Release USA 2014)

Ben Meyer’s rating: 3.6|5.0 Stars ììì Maleficent—creative—tells the background story of the evil fairy from Sleeping Beauty. This movie flows well and serves suitable to okay entertainment. Kudos to the costuming department. Angelina Jolie's costuming alone  makes the movie. It seems Disney Studios' 'magic' is lost in this film as this movie goes outside the boundaries that the studio usually uses to portray evil characters. Disney movies traditionally soften evilness to accommodate the entire family's watch. Angelina, in this movie, may be terrifying to younger audiences.   Film Poster Courtesy of Wikipedia Storyline The wicked fairy of Sleeping Beauty raises the child who becomes Sleeping Beauty and watches the baby grow to the age of pricking the finger on the spinning wheel. DISTRICT 9 (Theatrical Release USA 2009)

Ben Meyers’ Rating: 3.8|5.0 Starsììì  District 9—creative film—uses 'found footage' for its formatting. That choice creates a certain likableness for the movie as well as establishing a realism to the story. This is a suitable to okay watch that does not consistently follow movie protocol which hampers its logical and clear presentation. Watch for the performance of Sharlto Copley, some realistic action scenes, and interesting alien activity. The animation technology of the aliens is very realistic.

Storyline

Aliens land in Africa. African government confines the aliens to a government compound. As tension grows between African citizens and the compound, the government decides to relocate the aliens.
