BIG MOMMA’S HOUSE 2 (Theatrical Release USA 2006)

Ben Meyers’ Rating: 4.1|5.0 Starsìììì

Big Momma’s House 2—comical compliment to the first film in the series—turns into a good watch for the teen/adult audience. It presents itself well for its intended purpose and has Martin Lawrence delivering his usual good performance. Flamboyant and a little edgy typifies the theme of the movie with quite a few chuckles thrown in to keep it light.

Shazam!—very different superhero movie—is a good teen/adult movie as it continually introduces a lighter comedic touch into the darker elements of its story. The focus on choosing a pure-hearted superhero that works for the good of family and friends gives the entire movie a different twist that makes it a welcome watch. This DC comic superhero film works from a well-written script, a strong storyline that defines the essence of good family. Watch for Asher Angel playing Billy Batson, Zachary Levi playing a great Shazam, and Mark Strong playing the villain, Dr. Sivana. Thank you to all involved in the production of a unique and welcome superhero movie.
