BARNYARD (Theatrical Release USA 2006)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.8|5.0 Stars ììì

Barnyard—
a Nickelodeon, O Entertainment, and Omation Animation Studio production—definitely has its moments and tries to be an inspirational classic, but fails in attaining the heart necessary to give a film that indefinable sense of realness that one relates to on every level. However, the concept is good and the chosen voices for the animated characters are phenomenal with Kevin James voicing main character, Otis the Cow, and Sam Elliot voicing Ben, Otis’s business-oriented father. The music is 'crazy cool' and the dancing terrific. We even get a little moral to the story: Work before play or suffer the consequences.
