SHERLOCK HOLMES (Theatrical Release USA 2009)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 4.3|5.0 Starsìììì

Sherlock Holmes—great concept and retelling of a classic story—wisely chooses Robert Downy Jr. for the part of Sherlock Holmes and offsets him with Jude Law for the part of Doctor John Watson. This casting serves this British-themed film very well and throws the story into the higher entertainment class than most Sherlock Holmes films. The story is well done and very well directed by Director Guy Richie. It deserves its place in the home video library and has re-watchable status.

? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. This movie sits among the best renditions of the Sherlock Holmes’ movies. It is a more sophisticated version due to the small nuances that Robert Downey Jr. so naturally throws into his work.
