Ben Meyers’ Rating: 3.7|5.0 Starsììì  48 Hrs. seems to have a slowed frames per second that does not format well on screen at times and that creates a slight jarring effect for the audience. The movie is an okay/suitable watch, but not a terrific watch. It is a kind of 'fun' watch, but be aware that this movie has language and adult content.  Film Poster Courtesy of Google Images Storyline  The detective, Jack Cates, is on the trail of a criminal, Albert Ganz, who broke prison. DREAMGIRLS (Released to Theaters USA 2006)

 

Ben Meyers’ Rating: 3.9|5.0 Starsììì  Dreamgirls—good musical—swings like a fictional story of the legendary Supremes. Listen for terrific music (some of which is original work released for this film), watch very good stage dancing, and view some great costuming. It's difficult to keep some characters in place and understand how they are moving the film forward due to scenes that run very fast. It's a good, inside view of how musical careers peak and trough. THE HAUNTED MANSION (Released to Theaters USA 2004)

Ben Meyers’ Rating: 4.0|5.0 Starsìììì  The Haunted Mansion—Disney film with a pleasing mix of mystery, comedy, and 'scary'—becomes a good family share movie for a 'just right' scare movie. Eddie Murphy plays very well in this movie and is backed with a very believable cast. Watch for Wallace Shawn in a later career performance and Terrence Stamp. The story is creative, the stage settings phenomenal, and the story told well. Audiences will not want to go make popcorn unless the movie is paused so as not to miss the quick flow of this tale. THE ADVENTURES OF PLUTO NASH (Theatrical Release USA 2002)

The Adventures of Pluto Nash—campy, comical, futuristic science fiction—has a fresh approach to the usual science fiction fare. Human relationships with robots also take a creative bend. Mafia operating on the moon gives a comedic edge to the dialogue and scenes. Eddie Murphy and Randy Quaid team as the main actors in the film. The comedic element styles on Eddie Murphy’s traditional presentations. It’s a fun, adult watch with suggestive scenes.

Storyline 

This futuristic comedy film is about a time when people are living on the moon. Pluto Nash owns his own nightclub and becomes involved with mafia.
