Hobson's Choice—GREAT movie—has full stage settings in every scene. Acting is notable with Charles Laughton, John
Mills, and Brenda De Banzie. This is the second remake of a 1920 movie. Be sure and watch this 1954 remake. This movie begs for its addition to the home video library. It's a classic that will be returned to throughout the years for entertainment.

Storyline
A boot and shoe maker, who is also an alcoholic, Mr. Henry Hobson, has three daughters and a deceased wife. The daughters are of marrying age and need to start their own lives, but Mr. Hobson is far from letting them go. Mr. Hobson has a good thing going to benefit himself, working them in his shop for no pay. Then, the oldest daughter breaks the mold by picking simple, illiterate, professional boot maker from her father's shop for a husband and inspiring her younger siblings to start their lives also.

Yes. Quality entertainment. WOW! What a story! Charles Laughton and John Mills along with Brenda De Banzie are perfect for this film. This film is an 'add to the home video library film collection.' More than worth that ticket. It's classic all the way.
Stop-Loss—interesting—looses viable, well-thought-out solutions to stop-loss. Naivety dominates choices to seek help from biased authority rather than accept one's fate. The movie does not stand on a firm pedestal, but devolves into hopelessness due to lack of personal autonomy.

Edie—British film—tells its story very well. It is sentimental but tough with a strong message to finish what you start.

Storyline
An elderly British woman decides to take a trip to a mountain her father had asked her to climb with him years ago. She decides in her old age to climb that mountain to clear a past regret.

Yes. 'Feel good' movie runs slowly but is well worth watching.
Eight Below—American rewrite of the 1983 Japanese movie, Antarctica—becomes a suitable watch as it educates about research stations located in Antarctica, the importance of dog teams, ice breaking ships, research grant money sourcing, transporting long distances in dangerous environments, wildlife native to that continent, and the resourcefulness of life that needs to survive. Paul Walker's character seems generic. He has not been assigned the more involved, distinctive role as in the Fast and Furious or Hours films. The movie is a suitable watch that does not require a great emotional or mental involvement.

Storyline
Antarctic researcher looks for a rare rock thought to be present in that continent. An imminent storm requires immediate evacuation with no opportunity to rescue the dog team. The research guide attempts repeatedly to raise funding for the dog rescue.
