Goosebumps
2: Haunted Halloween—run of the mill children’s horror
flick—does not improve on the first Goosebumps movie and does not capture the ‘this
is kind of cool’ that the first film caught. Some scenes, such as the growling
pumpkin head, completely miss the definition of ‘scary’. The movie seems to
randomly run into the desert after Slappy ends up in the river. A sequel does
not seem to be warranted, but will undoubtedly happen if for no other reason
than R. L. Stine horror flicks can be watched by children as they contain just
the correct touch of scariness to cause that little shiver down the spine
desired by the younger set.

Maybe.
The storyline is bearable. It’s good to see Jack Black in another film.
