PAYBACK (Theatrical Release USA 1999)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 4.2|5.0 Starsìììì

Payback—
gritty and realistic—stars Mel Gibson. It has a good, solid storyline and serves as a good guy flick. The venue is fresh and well-chosen. This film turns upside down, just as the Paul Newman and Robert Redford film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid did, by making the protagonist the bad guy instead of the traditional, ethical, wear-the-white-hat good guy. This movement makes an interesting watch.

Yes. The movie completely serves the hardcore Mel Gibson fan. It’s well done and worth a watch. The story moves along rapidly from one action scene to another.
