MATILDA (Theatrical Release USA 1996)

Ben Meyers’ Rating: 4.3|5.0 Starsìììì

Matilda—spunky story—relies on stylized performances and does a marvelous job with that format. The casting is perfectly chosen for the film. Danny DeVito directed this film well. Thank you to Mara Wilson, Rhea Perlman, Embeth Davidtz, Pam Ferris, and Paul Reubens. Watch for the cameo appearance of Jean Speegle Howard, Director Ron Howard’s mother.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Yes. This is a wonderful film and more than worth watching and re-watching. Some stylized performances by the head mistress of Matilda’s school are exceptionally well done. Great work for all involved in production.
