PRIMAL (Theatrical Release Philippines 2019)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.9|5.0 Starsììì

Primal—average survival film—thrives on its introduction of a white jaguar. This single distinction causes it to lean more toward drama than thriller film. Kevin Durand renders a very good villainous character and Famke Jansson does a good job of depicting a soldier, but the movie constipates itself around the white jaguar so much that it seems if that novelty had been dispensed with, the movie could then have moved to a higher level of entertainment.

? Yes? No? Maybe?

Maybe. The movie works well for a background running flick at a party.
