TREASURE PLANET (Theatrical Release USA 2002)

Treasure Planet
lost $31,000,000 at the box office. Why? The concept is good. The movie is a take-off from the Robert Louis Stevenson story, Treasure Island, except it is set in galactic space rather than planet Earth. In addition, it’s a Disney creation and used the very accomplished team of Musker and Clements to produce and direct it. The movie has everything going for it. The voice choices are excellent: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Hyde Pierce, Martin Short, and Emma Thompson. Don’t miss this film. It does not play down to the child or adult audience and completely entertains.
