PETE’S DRAGON (Theatrical Release USA 2016)

Ben Meyers’ rating—4.0|5.0 Starsìììì

Pete’s Dragon
brilliantly supersedes the original 1977 Pete’s Dragon in quality and entertainment value. The script is more sophisticated, the animation better; the film flows. Director David Lowery shows high potential for directing children’s films. He pulls the emotional essence to the forefront and makes us feel the human element. The dragon has a makeover in this film and becomes a much more realistic rendition of how a dragon should look. Karl Urban makes an impressive, distinctive appearance in the role of Gavin Magary. Outstanding performance by Bryce Dallas Howard in this film. Watch for Robert Redford.
