WALKING TALL (Theatrical Release USA 2004)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.4|5.0 Starsììì

Walking Tall
is a loose remake of the 1973 film of the same name. It seems Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is uncomfortable in his role of Chris Vaughn while Neal McDonough seems not sure of his character or was not meant to be cast as a ‘bad guy'. Johnny Knoxville is just Johnny Knoxville. He’s a good actor. It’s good to see John Beasley in the film (The Sum of All Fears). Director Kevin Bray is pretty good at action sequences; but just not good enough, which may account for the generally uncomfortable feeling that seems to exist between the cast.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Maybe. It’s worth it to see one of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s earlier works.
