THE TRADER (SOVDAGARI) (Sundance Film Festival Park City Utah USA 2018)

Ben Meyers’ rating: 3.5|5.0 Starsììì

The Trader (Sovdagari)—
23 minute short film—is difficult to decipher for the first 5 minutes, then there is the ‘Oh!’ moment and one settles in for a very interesting watch. Then, suddenly the movie is over and one is left wanting more when there simply is no more. It’s not meant to be entertaining, but is exceptionally educational. A good watch for the entire family that provides excellent opportunity for discussion after watching. Worth every investment of 23 minutes of audience time and would make a good movie to add on to full-length feature films as an extra bonus movie.

Buy a ticket? Yes? No? Maybe?

Maybe. One is left wondering about the movie producer’s purpose in making the film. This is a good family watch and deserves attention.
